- The Essence of the Precursory Ritual to the Ten Underworld Kings was compiled in 1576 by the Buddhist monk Daeu as a manual to the Precursory Ritual (Yesujae). This ritual is performed while still alive in order to ensure one’s rebirth in the Western Paradise and serves as preparation for one’s judgment by the Ten Underworld Kings in the realm of the dead.
- 『예수시왕생칠재의찬요』는 조선시대 승려 대우가 불교 의례인 예수재의 절차를 기록하여 1576년에 편찬하였다. 예수재는 사후에 저승에 가서 시왕을 만나 받을 심판에 대비하여, 미리 공덕을 쌓기 위해 지내는 의식이다.
