해설문

국문

상주 지역에서 수백 년에 걸쳐 세거한 사서(沙西) 전식(全湜, 1563∼1642)의 조복 및 공예품 일괄 유물이다.

전식조복은 상태가 양호하지는 않으나 조복 홍의(紅衣)와 훈상(纁裳), 대대(大帶) 외에 패옥(佩玉), 아홀(牙笏) 등 12종의 구성물 중 5종이 함께 소장되어 있다. 이는 국내 최고의 전세(傳世) 유물로 출토복식에서는 볼 수 없는 당시의 실제 색상을 유추할 수 있다는 점에서 중요한 자료이다.

영문 해설 내용

이 유물들은 조선시대의 문신인 전식(1563-1642)의 조복과 물품들로 17세기에 만들어진 것으로 추정된다. 조복은 붉은 색의 상하의와 띠로 이루어져 있으며, 그외에 패옥, 홀, 합죽선, 호패, 인장 등을 포함하여 총 10점의 물품들이 있다. 이 유물들은 현재 한국에서 대대로 전해져오는 유물들 중 가장 오래된 것이다. 특히 조복은 출토복식에서는 볼 수 없는 당시의 실제 색상을 유추할 수 있다는 점에서 중요한 자료이다.
