This is the site of a building which had a foundation made of stacked roof tiles*. The use of roof tiles in foundations is a unique characteristic of Baekje-period architecture, which eventually spread even to Japan. Building sites featuring this technique are found in Buyeo and Iksan areas and date back to the period when Baekje had its capital in Sabi (538-660).
