국문

효자 박귀천(朴貴千)은 박동(朴東)의 아들이다. 부친이 임진왜란 때 부상을 입고 돌아오자 정성껏 간호하는 등 효성이 지극하였다고 한다. 지방 유림들의 상소로 1784년(정조8)에 명정(命旌)을 받고 1844년(철종10)에 정려각을 건립하였다. 현재의 건물은 1927년에 다시 세운 것이다. 규모는 작지만 건실한 구조와 화려한 조각 수법에서 정려각의 건축 특성을 잘 보여준다. 지붕 재료에서도 돌너와를 사용한 지역적 특색이 나타난다.

영문

This commemorative pavilion was built for Park Gwi-cheon, a son of Park Dong, to honor his filial devotion. When his father returned home injured from the Imjin War (1592-1598), Park Gwi-cheon nursed his father with utmost care. The royal court granted permission in 1784 for his devotion to be commemorated, after local Confucian scholars had made a recommendation. The commemorative pavilion was first built in 1844 and reconstructed in 1927. Though small, the pavilion is well proportioned and elaborately constructed. Its roof, covered in stone shingles rather than tile, is characteristic of local architecture.
