이 시설물은 일제강점기 때 해군 사령부의 통신을 담당했던 전신소 벙커로 추정된다. 콘크리트 벙커 1개와 지상에 있는 굴뚝 모양의 콘크리트 구조물 6개로 구성되어 있다. 땅속에 전신소를 설치한 이유는 공중폭격으로 발생하는 피해를 최소화하기 위한 것인데, 현재 입구는 닫혀 있다.
이 유적은 아시아태평양전쟁과 관련된 전쟁 유적으로, 살아 있는 역사 교육의 현장으로서 그 의미가 크다.

Telegraph Office Bunker of the Naval Command Headquarters
This place is presumed to have been a bunker built underground to be used as a telegraph office by the Japanese naval command headquarters during the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945). The reason the telegraph office was installed underground was to minimize the damage in the case of air bombardment. It consists of one concrete bunker and six above-ground chimney-shaped concrete parts. Its entrance is currently closed.
As an archaeological site related to the Pacific War (1941-1945), this bunker is meaningful as a venue for living history education.
