해설문

국문

청주 한씨가 시조 한란과 부인 송씨를 합장한 무덤과 그의 신도비가 있다.원래 무덤은 1659년(조선 효종10)에 파손된 것을 1663년(현종 4)에 개장하고, 1690년(숙종16)에 묘역을 복원하였다고 한다. 매몰되었던 묘비와 상석을 찾아 세우고 개축할 때 세운 문인석과 용마석이 있다. 묘소 아래에는 한익모가 찬하여 1768년(영조44)에 세운 신도비가 있다. 한란은 청주 한씨의 시조로 고려 태조가 후백제의 견훤을 정벌하려고 그의 집 앞을 지나갈 때 맞이하여 집 앞의 우물물을 식수로 공급하는 등 삼한 통합에 공을 세워 삼중대광 태위가 되고, 개국벽상공신에 올랐다. 우물이 네모가 져서 태조가 방정(方井)이라 하였다고 한다.

Tomb of Han Ran and Stele, Cheongju

This is the tomb of Han Ran, founder of the Cheongju Han Clan, and his wife. During the waning years of Unified Silla (668–935), Han supported Wang Geon, the founder of the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392), and provided Wang and his troops with food and shelter when they camped at the village. Wang defeated rival rebels and accepted the surrender of Silla and, thereafter, proclaimed the new kingdom of Goryeo. Han was awarded the title of meritorious subject of Goryeo for his actions. The tomb was repaired in 1690 and the stele was erected in 1768.
