해설문

국문

산을 등지고 있는 이 집은 안채와 사랑채가 붙어 있는 ㄷ자 모양으로, 일자형 헛간채가 놓여 있어 전체적으로는 ㅁ자 모양이다.

안채는 툇마루를 설치한 대청마루를 중심으로 오른쪽에 윗방, 안방, 부엌을 직각으로 배치하였다. 왼쪽으로는 건넌방이 접하여 ㄱ자 모양인데 이는 영서·중부 지방의 민가 형식이다.

사랑채 지붕은 옆면에서 볼 때 여덟 팔八자 모양을 한 팔작지붕으로 꾸며 높고 경쾌해 보인다.

영문

Historic House of Changwon-ri, Yeongwol

This historic house consists of a women’s quarters, a men’s quarters, and a storehouse, which together form a square layout with a central courtyard. It is unknown exactly when and by whom it was built.

The storehouse, which serves as the main gate quarters, has a linear layout. Located perpendicularly on the left is the men’s quarters, which is accessed from the exterior and is denoted by its hip-and-gable roof. Across the courtyard from the main gate is the women’s quarters, which is an L-shaped building consisting of a wooden-floored hall in the center, underfloor-heated rooms to either side, and a kitchen in the wing on the right.

영문 해설 내용

이 고택은 안채, 사랑채, 헛간채로 이루어져 있으며, 세 건물이 안마당을 중심으로 ㅁ자형을 이루고 있다. 건축 시기나 내력에 대해서는 알 수 없다.

헛간채는 대문의 역할을 겸하는 일자형 건물이다. 헛간채 왼쪽에는 사랑채가 있는데, 외부에서 바로 진입할 수 있으며 높은 팔작지붕을 올렸다. 대문 맞은편에 있는 ㄱ자형 안채는 대청을 중심으로 양옆에 온돌방을 두었고 오른쪽 날개에 부엌을 두었다.
