해설문

국문

금산읍 아인리에 있는 약 2m의 석탑이다. 석탑 주변에서 ‘금귀대덕(金貴大德)’이라는 글자가 새겨진 기와를 포함한 고려의 기와가 함께 수습되어 고려시대에 제작된 것으로 추정하고 있다. 원래 1층 기단(基壇) 위에 3층의 탑신(塔身, 몸돌)을 올린 형태였으나, 현재는 2층 탑신석과 3층 옥개석(지붕돌), 상륜부(相輪部, 머리장식)가 사라진 상태이며, 기단은 최근에 복원한 것이다. 1층 탑신의 한 면에는 부처 모습이 조각되어 있으며, 2층 옥개석과 3층 탑신은 하나의 돌로 이루어져 있다. 옥개석에는 1층에 4단, 2층에 3단의 옥개 받침을 두었으며, 네 귀퉁이는 위로 말아 올려져 있다.

Stone Pagoda in Ain-ri

A pagoda is a symbolic monument enshrining the relics or remains of the Buddha. Although not all pagodas contain the true remains, they are nonetheless worshiped as sacred places that enshrine the Buddha.

This pagoda measures about 2 m in height and is presumed to date to the Goryeo period (918-1392). Roof tiles with inscriptions, also dating to the Goryeo period, were discovered in its vicinity.

The pagoda is presumed to have originally consisted of a base, three sets of body and roof stones, and a decorative top. It is missing its original base, as well as its second-story body stone, third-story roof stone, and decorative top. The first-story body stone is engraved with an image of buddha on one side. The undersides of the first- and second-story roof stones are carved into four and three tiers, respectively, and the eaves curve slightly upward. The second-story body stone and third-story roof stone are actually one stone carved to look like two.

영문 해설 내용

불탑은 부처의 유골을 모신 상징적인 조형물이다. 모든 탑이 진신사리를 모신 것은 아니지만, 부처를 모신 신성한 곳으로 여겨 신앙의 대상이 된다.

이 석탑의 높이는 약 2m이고 고려시대에 세운 것으로 추정된다. 석탑 주변에서는 글자가 새겨진 고려시대의 기와도 발견되었다.

원래 기단, 3층의 몸돌과 지붕돌로, 머리장식으로 이루어져 있던 것으로 추정되나, 원래의 기단, 2층 몸돌, 3층 지붕돌, 머리장식은 없어졌다. 1층 몸돌의 한 면에는 부처의 모습이 새겨져 있다. 1층 지붕돌은 밑면에 4단, 2층 지붕돌은 밑면에 3단의 받침을 두었고 네 귀퉁이가 살짝 들려 있다. 2층 지붕돌과 3층 몸돌은 한 개의 돌로 만들어졌다.
