해설문

국문

수내동 가옥은 1980년대까지 이곳에서 집성촌을 이루고 살았던 한산 이씨의 살림집 가운데 하나이다. 분당신도시 개발로 살림집은 모두 철거되고 수내동 가옥만 남아 현재 분당 중앙공원 안에 있다. 가옥 뒤편으로는 한산 이씨 묘역(경기도기념물 제116호)이 있다.

가옥은 문간채, 안채, 헛간채 총 3채로 구성되어 있으며 모두 초가이다. 문간채는 一자형으로 바깥마당과 이어져 있고, 중앙의 대문을 중심으로 왼쪽에는 외양간과 헛간, 오른쪽에는 방과 광이 있다. 문간채는 주로 하인들이 사용하던 공간으로 집을 지키며 거주하기도 하였다.

안쪽에는 ㄱ자형의 안채가 배치되어 안마당을 이루고 있다. 안채*는 대청을 중심으로 오른쪽에 건넌방이 있고 왼쪽에는 안방이 있으며 안방 앞쪽으로 부엌과 광이 꺾여 있다. 안채는 주로 여성들이 사용하는 공간인데 대청을 중심으로 양쪽에 있는 안방과 건넌방에는 각각 시어머니와 며느리가 거처하였다. 시어머니가 죽거나 며느리가 일정 기간이 지나 가풍을 익히고 나면 ‘안방물림’이라 하여 며느리에게 안방을 물려주었다.

안채 왼쪽으로는 화장실과 헛간으로 이루어진 헛간채가 있고 안채 뒤로는 뒷마당이 널찍하게 있으며 흙담이 전체적으로 가옥을 둘러싸고 있다. 이러한 공간 구성은 조선 후기 경기도 살림집의 특징적인 모습을 잘 보여준다.

한편, 수내동 가옥은 신도시 공원 안에 있지만 가옥 옆에 수령이 오래된 향나무가 있고 주위에는 마을 어귀에 있던 느티나무와 연못, 정자터 등 신도시 개발 이전의 모습도 담고 있다.

• 안채: 살림집에서 가족생활과 의례의 중심이 되는 공간을 의미하는데 16~17세기 사회 변화를 거치면서 주로 여성과 가족만의 생활을 위한 공간이 되었다.

Historic House of Sunae-dong

This house once belonged to the Hansan Yi Clan. The first man of the Hansan Yi Clan to settle in today’s Sunae-dong area was the civil official Yi Jang-yun (1455-1528). A clan village eventually developed in the area and remained here until the 1980s. Due to city development plans in the early 1990s, all the houses of the clan village were demolished except this one, and the area was turned into Bundang Central Park.

The house consists of a gate quarters, a women’s quarters, and a storehouse. All three buildings have thatched roofs. The gate quarters has a straight layout and features a gate in the middle, a stable with a barn on the left, and an underfloor-heated room with a storeroom on the right. The building was mostly used by the servants.

Behind the gate quarters is a courtyard and a women’s quarters. The women’s quarters has an L-shaped layout and consists of a wooden-floored hall in the middle, a main underfloor-heated room on the left, and an auxiliary underfloor-heated room on the right. In front of the main room are a kitchen and a storeroom. The main and the auxiliary rooms were occupied by the lady of the house and her daughter-in-law, respectively. The daughter-in-law would inherit the main room either when she had successfully adapted to the family’s customs or in the case of her mother-in-law’s death.

To the left of the women’s quarters is the storehouse which consists of a toilet and a storeroom. There is also has a spacious yard with a garden at the back. The entire complex is surrounded by an enclosure wall. Such space division is characteristic of residences built in the Gyeonggi-do area during the late period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910).

Apart from the house itself, several trees and man-made structures still remain in its vicinity. These include an old Chinese juniper next to the house, a saw-leaf zelkova, a pond, and a pavilion site which were a part of the village. On the hill behind the house is the cemetery of the Hansan Yi Clan (Gyeonggi-do Monument No. 116) which was created from the 16th to 18th centuries.

영문 해설 내용

이 집은 한산이씨 가문의 살림집이다. 한산이씨는 조선시대의 문신 이장윤(1455-1528)이 지금의 수내동 지역에 입향한 이후로 1980년대까지 이곳에서 집성촌을 이루고 살았다. 1990년대 초 분당 신도시가 개발되면서, 수내동에 있던 한산이씨 살림집은 모두 철거되었고 이 집만 현재 분당 중앙공원 안에 남아 있다.
