해설문

국문

동궁과 월지 유적의 연못 서편과 남편에서 총 31동의 건물 터가 확인되었다.

서편 건물 터는 연못 기슭의 석축과 맞닿도록 조성된 제1~5 건물 터, 그리고 익랑*과 회랑**으로 둘러싸인 A~C 건물 터로 이루어져 있다.

제1~5 건물 터는 기단***이 남아 있어 건물 터가 있었음을 알 수 있다. 현재 5동의 건물 터 중 제1,3,5 건물 터가 복원되었다.

동궁과 월지 유적 내에서 주요한 역할을 했을 것으로 추정되는 A~C 건물 터는 남-북을 중심축으로 하여 차례대로 배치되었으며, 익랑과 회랑이 주변을 감싸고 있다.

Western Building Sites (Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Gyeongju)

To the west of Wolji Pond, the sites of 18 buildings have been identified. They consist of five building sites (Nos. 1-5) standing on the ponds’ edge, three large building sites (Nos. A-C), and their auxiliary and corridor buildings.

The building sites Nos. 1-5 were found with their foundations intact. Among these, three were rebuilt as pavilions in the 1980s (Nos. 1, 3, and 5).

The buildings of sites Nos. A-C, situated one behind the other on a north-south axis, were surrounded and connected to each other with ten auxiliary and corridor buildings. They are presumed to have been the central buildings of Donggung Palace.

Together with the finds to the south of the pond, a total of 31 building sites have been discovered at this historic site.

영문 해설 내용

월지 서편에서는 총 18곳의 건물 터가 확인되었다. 연못 기슭의 석축과 맞닿도록 조성된 건물 터 5곳(1호-5호), A~C 건물 터, 익랑과 회랑 등으로 이루어져있다.

제1-5호 건물 터는 기단이 남아 있어 건물 터가 있었음을 알 수 있다. 이 중 제1, 3, 5호 건물 터의 누각은 1980년대에 복원되었다.

남북 방향으로 일렬로 배치된 건물 터 3곳(A호-C호)은 익랑과 회랑이 주변을 감싸고 있으며, 동궁과 월지 유적 내에서 주요한 역할을 했을 것으로 추정된다.

동궁 내 월지의 서편과 남편에서는 총 31동의 건물 터가 확인되었다.
