이 전차(Georgia Power 893)는 1927년 미국 신시내티 차량 회사에서 제작한 반강제(半鋼製)* 보기식(bogie式)** 차량으로, 애틀랜타에서 운행되었다. 1952년 6월 국제연합민사지원단(UNCACK)의 원조로 40대 가운데 20대가 부산에 들어와 1968년 5월 전량 폐차되기 전까지 시내 전역에서 운행되었다. 이듬해 2월 동아대학교가 남선전기(주)(한국전력공사)로부터 전차 1대(351호)를 교육용으로 기증받아 전시하고 있다.
전차의 길이는 14m로, 상부의 집전기***를 제외한 높이는 3.2m, 폭 2.4m이다. 앞뒤 모습과 구조가 같으며 전차의 양쪽 끝에 있는 제어기로 전·후진이 가능하였다. 전차 안에는 2명씩 앉을 수 있는 의자가 좌우에 12개씩 서로 반대 방향으로 배치되었으며, 입석을 포함하면 100여 명이 탈 수 있었던 것으로 보인다.
우리나라 교통 기술의 발전 과정을 이해할 수 있으며 국내에 유일하게 남아 있는 미국제 전차로, 1950년대~1960년대 부산 시민의 생활상을 담고 있는 근현대 유산이라는 점에서 큰 가치를 지닌다.

Streetcar of Busan
This streetcar is No. 893 of the Georgia Power series made in 1927 by the United States Cincinnati Car Company. Originally used in Atlanta, 20 cars from the series were brought to Busan in June 1952 with the assistance of the United Nations Civil Assistance Corps Korea. This car was donated to Dong-A University for educational purposes in 1969 following the dismantling of the streetcar system, which operated in downtown Busan from 1915 to 1968.
The body of this bogie-style streetcar is made of wood and steel. It measures 14 m in length, 2.4 m in width, and 3.2 m in height excluding the bow collector. The appearance and structure of the front and back are similar, such that the car can advance and reverse through the controllers at the ends. The car contains two rows of 12 two-seater benches, and its maximum capacity including standing room is thought to be about 100 people.
As the only American-made streetcar currently remaining in Korea, this car provides insight into the development of Korean transportation technology and is greatly valued as an example of 20th-century cultural heritage that shows the everyday life of Busan citizens in the 1950s and 1960s.
