해설문

국문

동방장지는 건물을 여러 차례 고쳐 지어 정확한 형태는 알 수 없으나 ‘-’자형으로 추정된다.

동방장지 건물의 내부에서는 기단시설이, 외부에서는 계단시설이 확인된다. 기단은 할석*된 자연석을 이용하여 3단~4단 정도 가로로 눕혀 쌓았으며 방장지와 동방장지의 기단이 자연스럽게 연결되어 확인된다. 계단시설은 동방장지 건물의 동쪽에서 확인되며 근대 민가 터와 관련된 계단시설로 보인다.

민가 조성으로 인하여 일부 일제강점기 유물과 조선시대 유물이 나온 것을 보아 건물지의 시기를 가늠해 볼 수 있다.

East Monks’ Quarters Site

This is the site of a monks’ residence. Artifacts discovered here date to the Joseon (1392-1910) and Japanese colonial (1910-1945) periods.

The building underwent several repairs, so its exact layout cannot be known, but it is presumed to have been linear. The site’s structural remains include a foundation and a staircase. The foundation consists of roughly hewn stones stacked horizontally into three or four tiers and connects to the foundation of the monks’ quarters on the left. The staircase, located at the front left of the site, is presumed to be a later addition dating to the early 20th century when a house was built on the site and is therefore unrelated to the temple.

영문 해설 내용

이곳은 사찰에서 승려들이 거처하는 건물이 있던 곳이다. 이곳에서는 조선시대와 일제강점기 유물이 발견되었다.

건물을 여러 차례 고쳐 지어 정확한 형태는 알 수 없으나 ‘-’자형이었던 것으로 추정된다. 건물지에서는 기단과 계단 시설이 확인되었다. 기단은 깬 자연석을 이용하여 3~4단 정도 가로로 눕혀 쌓았으며, 왼쪽에 있는 방장지의 기단과 자연스럽게 연결된다. 건물지 정면 왼쪽에 있는 계단 시설은 20세기 초 민가가 조성된 시기에 만들어져 사찰과는 관련이 없는 것으로 판단된다.
