암문은 일종의 비밀통로로 적의 관측이 어려운 곳에 설치한다. 남한산성에는 본성에 11개, 봉암성에 4개, 한봉성에 1개 등 모두 16개의 암문이 있다.

이 암문은 폭 130cm, 높이 143cm로 성 바깥 장경사신지옹성으로 연결된다. 문 주변의 성돌 크기가 일정하지 않은 것으로 보아 장경사신지옹성을 쌓을 때 신축한 암문으로 추정되며 평거식(직사각형)이다.

Secret Entrance of Janggyeongsa Semi-Circular Wall – Secret Entrance No. 2

A secret entrance (ammun) is an emergency passage that allowed for the undetected movement of forces into and out of a fortress. Namhansanseong Fortress has a total of 16 secret entrances: 11 along the main fortress wall, four along the northeastern auxiliary wall (Bongamseong), and one along the eastern auxiliary wall (Hanbongseong).

Located on the eastern side of the main fortress, this secret entrance provided access into Namhansanseong Fortress through the semi-circular wall of Janggyeongsa Temple. It is presumed to have been built in the first half of the 18th century together with the semi-circular wall. The entrance has a rectangular shape and measures 130 cm in width by 143 cm in height.

영문 해설 내용

암문은 아군이 적군 몰래 성을 드나들 수 있도록 만든 비상통로이다. 남한산성에는 모두 16개의 암문이 있는데 본성에 11개, 북동쪽 봉암성에 4개, 동쪽 한봉성에 1개가 설치되어 있다.

본성 동쪽에 위치한 이 암문은 장경사신지옹성으로 연결되며, 18세기 초반에 장경사신지옹성을 쌓을 때 함께 만든 것으로 추정된다. 문의 형태는 직사각형이고 폭 130cm, 높이 143cm이다.
