원홍주등육군상무사 단제비는 선배 보부상들을 추모하고 제사를 지내는 비이다. 예로부터 보부상들은 선배 보부상들의 허묘(墟墓)*를 만들고 제를 올렸는데, 1962년에 단제비를 세웠다. 한식날에 단제비에 가장 먼저 제를 올린다.

Altar Stele to the Peddlers of Trade Union of the Six Counties

This stele was erected here in 1962 to honor the senior members of the Trade Union of the Six Counties. Before the stele was made, a memorial ritual was performed in front of an empty tomb. The ritual is held each year on April 5th or 6th.

영문 해설 내용

선배 보부상들을 추모하고 제사를 지내기 위해 1962년에 세운 비이다. 이 비를 세우기 전에는 허묘를 만들고 제사를 올렸다. 매년 한식날(4월 5일 또는 6일경)에 제사를 지낸다.
