남한산성에는 군량을 비롯하여 남한산성 행궁 및 관청의 물품을 보관하기 위해 창고가 많이 필요했다. 그중에서도 영고는 조선시대 5군영의 하나이자 도성 남부와 남한산성을 수비하는 수어청의 관할 창고였다. 전체 201칸으로 이루어진 24개의 건물에 금, 은, 포백 및 소금, 간장 등을 보관하였다고 전해진다.

현재 남한산초등학교가 있는 곳은 영고가 있었던 곳이다.

Headquarters Storehouse Site

The headquarters storehouse (yeonggo) was a storage facility overseen by the Office of the Defense Commander, a military headquarters based within Namhansanseong Fortress that was one of the five military headquarters charged with the defense of the royal capital in the late period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). The facility is said to have consisted of 24 buildings and was used for storing gold, silver, silk and hemp fabrics, salt, and soy sauce. It was one of many storage facilities set up within Namhansanseong Fortress to store military rations, as well as various goods to be used at the temporary palace and government offices. Today, the site is occupied by Namhansan Elementary School.

영문 해설 내용

영고는 남한산성에 설치된 군영인 수어청에서 관할하던 창고이다. 수어청은 조선 후기 수도 지역 수비를 담당한 오군영 중 하나이다. 영고는 전체 24개의 건물에 금, 은, 포백 및 소금, 간장 등을 보관하였다고 전해진다. 남한산성에는 군량을 비롯하여 행궁 및 관청의 물품을 보관하기 위해 창고가 여럿 있었다. 현재 이 자리에는 남한산초등학교가 있다.
