국문
선고인 합동위령비는 조선 후기 홍도원에 묻힌 이름 없는 보부상들을 추모하고 제사를 지내기 위한 위령제단이다. 보부상들은 대개 살림살이가 넉넉하지 않은 행상인들이어서 죽은 후에 제대로 묘소를 갖출 수 없거나 후손이 없는 경우가 많아 이곳 홍도원에 공동묘지를 만들고 합동으로 위령제를 지내고 있다. 비석은 1967년에 세워졌다.

Memorial Monument for the Souls of the Peddlers
This stele was erected here in 1967 to honor and perform memorial rituals for the unknown peddlers who were members of the Trade Union of the Six Counties during the late 19th century. Many peddlers had difficult lives and could not afford a place to be buried after death. Some did not even have children to perform memorial rituals for them. For this reason, the union made a common cemetery and performs group memorial rituals in honor of these peddlers.
영문 해설 내용
19세기 후반 6군상무사 소속의 이름을 알 수 없는 보부상들을 추모하고 제사를 지내기 위해 1967년에 세운 비석이다.
보부상들은 대개 살림살이가 넉넉하지 않은 경우가 많아, 죽은 후에 제대로 묘소를 갖출 수 없었고 후손이 없는 사람들도 많았다. 그래서 공동묘지를 만들고 합동으로 위령제를 지내고 있다.
