해설문

국문

공주 수원사지 금당지는 수원사의 본존불을 모시는 중심 건물인 금당이 있던 자리이다.

금당은 수원사 터의 가장 안쪽인 서쪽 끝에 있으며, 동쪽을 향하고 있는 건물이다. 이 건물 터는 주춧돌만 남아 있는데, 앞면 5칸, 옆면 3칸의 규모이다. 금당지 앞쪽으로 4기의 건물 터가 ‘ㅁ’자 모양으로 배치되어 있는데, 건물 터 사이의 거리가 매우 짧은 것이 특징이다. 이 건물 터 부근에서는 사찰 건립 초기에 조성된 것으로 보이는 부석시설(敷石施設)*, 범종을 주조했던 시설, 배수로 등이 확인되었다.

Main Worship Hall Site (Suwonsa Temple Site, Gongju)

This is the site of main worship hall of Suwonsa Temple. It was here that a statue of the Buddha would have been enshrined.

This site is located at the very back of the temple complex. The building was oriented toward the east, and all that remains of the building are pillar-base stones.

There are four building sites in front of the main worship hall that form a tight square layout. Other remains excavated in the vicinity include a crushed stone structure, a bronze bell foundry, and a drainage ditch that date to the period when the temple was founded.

이곳은 수원사의 본존불을 모시는 중심 건물인 금당이 있던 자리이다.

금당은 수원사 영역에서 가장 안쪽에 있었으며, 동쪽을 향해 지어졌다. 지금은 주춧돌만 남아 있다.

금당지 앞에는 4기의 건물 터가 밀집하여 ‘ㅁ’자형으로 배치되어 있다. 금당 터 부근에서는 사찰 건립 초기에 조성된 것으로 보이는 부석시설(돌을 깐 시설), 범종을 주조했던 시설, 배수로 등이 확인되었다.
