From Gwangju to the World: K-pop Star J-Hope of BTS
Narrative
J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok, born 1994) , a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, was born and grew up in Gwangju. He attended Seoil Elementary School, Ilgok Middle School, and Gukje High School. Various sites have been made in Gwangju to commemorate J-Hope, including murals in Penguin Village and Balsan Village, and an installation called HOPEWORLD in Gwangju’s K-pop Star Street. A Gwangju HOPEDAY Tour is also held to celebrate J-Hope’s birthday.
