조선상업은행

Definition

1899년(고종 36) 1월 설립인가를 받은 대한천일은행(大韓天一銀行)을 개편해 1911년 1월에 설립한 은행. 1911년 2월에는 행명을 조선상업은행으로 변경하였으며 1917년에는 자본금을 100만 원으로 증자하면서 한국인에게만 부여했던 주주 자격을 일본인에게도 개방하였다. 이 과정에서 조선총독이 최대주주가 되고 지배인도 일본인이 맡았기 때문에 일본인 고객의 출입이 크게 늘었다.
