Goalkeeper Angus Gunn made three excellent saves to keep the Canaries in the game
Angus Gunn made three superb saves to keep Norwich in the game as Stoke & Norwich battled to a goalless draw. After saving Jacob Brown's header, Gunn then denied Tyrese Campbell with another superb stop to keep Stoke out.
Gunn is an innate goalkeeper and it is no surprise that he has had such a successful career so far - especially after following in his father Bryan's footsteps. Despite experiencing numerous in-game injuries during his youth level years, Gunn has worked hard to prove himself worthy at the highest levels.
On Friday night, Smith's performance against Watford put an end to a run of six straight losses. Smith correctly pointed out that lack of protection had been the culprit behind those heavy defeats against Palace and Arsenal - leading to such heavy losses in each match.
As Tim Krul was lost for the season with a shoulder injury during the last round of games, Gunn has been an essential cog in the Canaries' survival efforts this year. He should remain as No. 1 until Krul returns and should be rewarded for his impressive performances this week.
