해설문
국문
정용해 효자 정려는 어려서부터 효성이 지극했던 정용해를 기리기 위해 용갈산에 세운 문이다.
정용해는 추운 겨울에도 병든 아버지를 위해 금마천의 얼음을 깨고 잉어를 잡아 드렸다.
벼슬길에 오른 정용해가 역적으로 몰려 귀양살이를 마치고 고향으로 돌아왔을 때, 어머니가 돌아가신 사실을 알고 효심을 다해 삼년상을 치른 뒤 자결하였다고 한다.
정용해 효자 정려는 지역 유림의 추천과 관찰사의 보고로 1893년(고종 30)에 세워졌다.

영문 해설 내용
이 정려는 조선 말기의 인물인 정용해의 효성을 기리기 위해 1893년에 세워졌다. 조선시대에는 나라에서 충신, 효자, 열녀에게 정려 현판 또는 정려비를 내렸으며, 정려를 받은 사람의 집 앞에 붉은 문을 세우거나 정려각을 세워 모셨다.
정용해는 병든 아버지를 위해 추운 겨울에도 금마천의 얼음을 깨고 잉어를 잡아 드렸다. 아버지가 돌아가신 후 벼슬길에 올렸으나, 역적으로 몰려 귀양을 가게 되었다. 귀양에서 풀려나 고향으로 돌아왔을 때 어머니가 이미 돌아가신 사실을 알고 효심을 다해 삼년상을 치른 뒤 자결하였다고 한다.
