해설문
국문
이 건물은 1927년 일제가 보안대 건물로 사용하기 위하여 건축하였다. 1945년 광복 이후에는 부산제일공립상업학교, 경남공립상업중학교, 부산제1상업고등학교, 경남상업고등학교를 거쳐 현재는 부경고등학교 교사로 사용하고 있다.
건물은 중앙 출입구와 연결된 포치*를 중심으로 좌우 대칭을 이루고 있으며, 수평의 줄눈, 벽면의 장식 처리, 수직의 긴 창문을 규칙적으로 배열하여 안정된 균형미와 조형미를 보여주고 있다. 또한 건축 초기와 달리 건물의 평면은 변경되었으나 입면**은 잘 보존되어 있다.
이 건물은 서양의 고전 건축을 재해석하여 근대 건축에 적용하는 등 국내에서 적용된 서양 건축술의 과도기적 성격을 보여주는 등 건축사적 가치가 높아 2007년 국가등록문화재로 지정되었다.
