국문
봉암신성 신축 비는 조선 숙종 12년(1686) 수어사 윤지선*의 감독 아래 윤달 4월 1일부터 같은 해 5월 9일까지 봉암성을 쌓은 사실을 기록하고 있다.
비문은 자연석 위에 해서체로 음각되어 있으며, 판독 가능한 49자 외에 마모가 심하여 알아보기 힘든 글자가 많다. 한자로 적힌‘成俊, 石之完, 奉世’등은 축성에 동원된 장인(匠人)의 이름으로 추정된다.
- 윤지선: 봉암성 축조 당시 광주유수 겸 수어사로 좌의정, 우의정을 지냈다.

Monument of Bongamseong Fortification
This stone monument records the construction process of Bongamseong Fortification which took place in 1686. 이 비석은 1686년 수어사 윤지선(1627-1704)의 감독 아래 윤달 4월 1일부터 같은 해 5월 9일까지 봉암성을 쌓은 사실을 기록하고 있다.
비문은 자연석 위에 해서체로 음각되어 있으며, 판독 가능한 49자 외에 마모가 심하여 알아보기 힘든 글자가 많다. 축성에 동원된 장인의 이름들도 함께 새겨져 있는 것으로 추정된다.
