기와 생산도구는 경북 고령군에 있는 기와 생산 업체인 고령기와에서 기와를 생산할 때 사용하던 도구로, 기와 제작 기계 3점, 막새기와* 제작틀 3점, 일식기와** 제작틀 1점, 특수 기와 제작틀 3점 등 1950~1970년대 유물 4종류 10점으로 구성되어 있다. 이들 중 통와기***, 수동 압축기, 전동 압축 성형기 등은 완전한 상태로 보존되어 있어서, 당시의 기와 생산 과정을 보여 주는 유물로 가치가 높다. 현재 고령기와에서 소장・관리하고 있으며, 2013년 12월 20일 국가등록유산으로 지정되었다.
