On the left of the main building of the Academy is the Upper Gojiksa where management staff resided; the Lower Gojiksa was for those who worked in other facilities other than the main Academy area. Between the Upper and Lower Gojiksa is the Jeonsacheong storage.

고직사는 도산서원을 관리하고 식사를 준비하던 사람들이 거처하던 곳이다. 전교당과 도산서당 왼쪽에 각각 상고직사와 하고직사가 있다.

Custodians’ Living Quarters

This academy has two living quarters for the custodians who managed the buildings in the complex and prepared food. The living quarters next to Jeongyodang Lecture Hall was for the custodians in charge of the Confucian academy section, and the one next to Dosanseodang Village Study Hall was for the custodians of the village study hall, dormitories, and other auxiliary buildings.
