국문
경상좌수영성 남문은 조선시대 경상좌도수군절도사영의 주문(主門)으로 1972년 6월 26일 부산광역시 유형문화재로 지정되었다. 수영성남문은 이곳에서 수영사적공원 인근에 있었던 옛 수영초등학교로 옮겨져 교문으로 이용하다가 1962년 학교가 이전하면서 수영사적공원 동편 입구로 옮겨 보존되고 있다. 현재는 성문의 홍예(아치형문)만 남아 있고 그 양측에 돌로 새겨진 박견(狛犬)이 석축 위에 놓여 있다. 수영구에서는 이곳 남문터에 수영사적공원 동편 입구의 홍예를 이전하여 수영성남문을 복원할 계획이다.
영문
Southern Gate Site, Gyeongsangjwasuyeongseong Fortress
This is the site of the Southern Gate of the Gyeongsangjwasuyeongseong Fortress, built in 1692.
During the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945), the Southern Gate was moved from its original location to Suyeong Elementary School nearby Suyeong Historic Park, and used as a school gate. After Suyeong Elementary School was moved to Gwangan-dong in 1962, the Southern Gate was moved to Suyeong Historic Park near the east entrance. In 1972, Southern Gate was designated as Busan Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 17.*
Today, only two arches of the Southern Gate remain. In front of them there are two rectangular stone pillars with stone dog statues on top. The administrations of Suyeong-gu plans to move the arches from the east entrance of Suyeong Historic Park and restore the Southern Gate of the Gyeongsangjwasuyeongseong Fortress on its original site.
영문 해설 내용
이곳은 조선시대인 1692년 경상좌도의 수군 본부였던 좌수영성의 남문이 세워졌던 곳이다.
남문은 일제강점기 때 수영사적공원 인근에 있던 수영초등학교로 옮겨져 교문으로 이용되었다. 수영초등학교는 1962년 광안동으로 이전하였고, 남문은 1960년대 말에 수영사적공원 동편 입구로 옮겨졌으며 1972년 부산광역시 유형문화재로 지정되었다.
현재 남문은 2개의 홍예만 남아 있고, 홍예 앞에는 돌로 된 개 조각상이 놓인 사각형의 돌기둥이 한 쌍 있다. 수영구에서는 수영사적공원 동편 입구에 있는 홍예를 이전하여 이곳 남문터에 수영성 남문을 복원할 계획이다.
