3호 해자는 최대 규모가 동서 길이 120m, 남북 폭 30m이다. 월성 북쪽의 석축 해자* 중 가장 길고, 평면은 직사각형이다. 석축이 거의 일직선으로 세워져서 석축이 만나는 각 모서리가 직각에 가깝다. 이 해자는 한 번 이상 크게 고쳐 지어졌으며, 비교적 토기가 많이 나왔다.

Moat No. 3 (Wolseong Palace Site, Gyeongju)

Moat No. 3 is rectangular in shape and measures up to 120 m from east to west and 30 m from south to north. It is the longest of the seven moats located to the north of the palace site. This moat’s embankment walls were built in almost straight lines meeting at nearly right angles. The moat underwent more than one alteration. Numerous earthenware was discovered in the moat during excavations.
