궁궐을 둘러싸고 있는 담장으로 동서 길이가 약240m, 남북이 약 490m의 직사각형이다. 담장의 폭은 3m 정도로, 잘 다듬은 석재를 쌓아 올려 만들었다. 담장은 구간별로 돌을 쌓는 방법이 달라 담장을 쌓은 축조집단 간에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한 폭이 약 6m인 궁궐문터와 바깥 담장보호시설이 발견되어 왕궁을 중심으로 한 당시 교통로를 복원 할 수 있었다.

Eastern Palace Wall

This is the eastern section of the wall that once surrounded the detached palace built here during the reign of King Mu (r. 600-641) of the Baekje kingdom (18 BCE-660 CE). The wall formed a rectangular which measured 240 m from east to west and 490 m from north to south.

The wall was made of refined stones and measured 3 m in width. Different techniques were used to lay stones in different sections of the wall which suggests that several crews were separately employed in the construction process. Structural remains on the eastern section of the wall include a gate site measuring about 6 m in length, pavements on either side of the wall, and sluice gates with ditches that were used for wastewater disposal**.
