국문
『조상경』은 불상과 보살상을 제작할 때 치르는 여러 의식과 절차에 대한 기록들을 체계화한 경전으로 승려 용허(聳虛)가 편찬한 책이다. 우리나라 최초로 선조 8년(1575)에 전라도 담양도호부(지금의 전라남도 담양군) 추월산(秋月山) 용천사(龍泉寺)에서 판각한 것을 인쇄한 초간본으로 국내에서 세 권만 발견된 희귀본이다.

The Sutras on the Production of Buddhist Images was compiled in the early period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) by Monk Yongheo. It contains systematically compiled records about various rituals and procedures involved in the creation of sculptures of buddhas and bodhisattvas.
