해설문

국문

이 집은 정확한 건축연대는 알 수 없으나 부재의 견실함과 치목에 사용된 세부기법 등으로 보아 19세기 후반에 지어진 것으로 추정된다.

이 집은 안채, 광채, 사랑채, 문간채로 구성되어 있다. 안채는 정면 6칸, 측면 2칸 규모의 초가집이다. 평면구성은 1칸의 부엌, 2칸의 온돌방, 2칸의 대청, 1칸의 건넌방으로 구성하였다. 안채는 초가임에도 큼직한 부재를 사용하고 짜임새 있는 구조를 갖춘 견실한 집이다.

사랑채는 정면 3칸, 측면 2칸, 우진각지붕 건물이다. 대청을 가운데 두고 양쪽에 방을 설치하였다. 2009년에 고증을 통해 복원하였다.

광채는 정면 8칸, 측면 1칸 규모이며, 4칸의 광ㆍ방ㆍ방앗간ㆍ2칸의 외양간으로 구성하였다. 배면 벽은 전체적으로 바람이 잘 통하도록 판벽으로 처리하였으며, 하인방 아래로는 화방벽을 설치하였다.

이 집은 이 지역의 전통주거건축의 특성을 잘 보여주는 사례로서 화순최씨 씨족마을 내의 건축의 관계를 살펴볼 수 있는 학술적 가치가 있다.

영문 해설 내용

이 집은 19세기 후반에 지어진 것으로 추정된다. 현 소유자인 최재한은 화순최씨로, 이 집이 위치한 선곡리는 16세기 중반부터 화순최씨가 정착하여 집성촌을 형성하였다.

문간채, 안채, 사랑채, 광채로 구성되어 있다.

기와지붕을 얹은 사랑채는 2009년에 다시 지었고, 대청을 가운데 두고 양쪽에 온돌방을 설치하였다. 광채는 광, 온돌방, 방앗간, 외양간으로 구성되어 있다.

안채는 왼쪽에서부터 부엌, 안방, 대청, 건넌방으로 이루어졌다. 앞쪽에 툇마루를 두었고, 건넌방 앞에는 누마루가 있다. 초가임에도 불구하고 큼직한 부재를 사용한 견실한 집이다.
