에이(A) 작업장은 에이(A) 가마에 그릇을 넣어 굽기 전까지 재료를 준비하고 그릇의 형태를 만드는 공간으로, 에이(A) 가마의 오른쪽 언덕 아래 평지에 자리하고 있다. 에이(A) 작업장의 바닥 면에는 백자 그릇을 만드는 재료인 백토가 얇게 깔려 있으며, 백토를 저장하는 시설과 백토를 건조하는 온돌 시설이 남아 있다. 그리고 그릇의 형태를 만드는 물레의 유물이 확인되어 물레 작업장으로 추측되는 곳도 남아 있다.
온돌은 아궁이에 불을 지피면 불길이 고래를 타고 지나가면서 고래 위를 덮어서 깐 편평한 돌(구들장)을 데우는 시설이다. 백토를 말리면 잘 부서지고 물에도 잘 풀어져 불순물을 제거하기 쉽기 때문에 이 온돌에서 건조하여 그릇을 만드는 데 사용하였던 것으로 추측된다.
이와 같은 온돌 시설이 2기 발견되었는데, 고래만 각각 5줄, 3줄이 남아 있을 뿐 고래 위를 덮어서 깐 돌은 없어져서 남아 있지 않다.
