Story

A dolmen is a megalithic monument constructed during the Bronze Age. Dolmens are found in parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. The Korean Peninsula has the largest concentration of dolmens in the world.
Gwangju is home to 103 dolmens, including the Dolmens in Samgeo-dong and the Dolmens in Yongdu-dong.
The Dolmens in Samgeo-dong comprise 49 dolmens in two groups in an area of 200 m. The nearby Chilseong Village, meaning "Seven Stars" is named after these dolmens, of which there are seven of particular size.
The Dolmens in Yongdu-dong include 10 dolmens remaining in their complete state. It is presumed there would have been 2-3 more dolmens in the vicinity based on the remains. Among them, there is one table-type dolmen, which is rare for the region, and the rest at Go board-type dolmens. The stone is though to have come from the nearby Songaksan Mountain.
