KIM Chung-sik
Choong Sik Kim, He received the Bachelor's degree, Master's degree and Ph. D. in Landscape Architecture from The University of Seoul, Seoul, Korea, in 1995, 1998 and 2004 respectively. Kim received his doctorate from the University of Seoul for research on predicting changes in the urban landscape by developing a three-dimensional creation simulator for buildings. He has previously worked at Kangnueng-Wonju National University, Kangwondo as an associate professor(2007-2013). He started the three-dimensional digital recording of cultural heritage while scanning scenic cultural assets in 2010.
He is a professor of Dept. of Heritage Conservation and Restoration at the Cultural Heritage Graduate School, Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. He is currently the dean of the graduate school.
He enjoys exploring subjects such as 'Designing Digital Restoration of Cultural Heritage', 'Historical Landscape Analysis and Preservation', and 'Cultural Heritage GIS' with students. He established ‘Digital Heritage Research Center’ in 2015 to conduct research and education closely related to field practice. In 2016, he wrote a book entitled ‘Digital Heritage: The Three-Dimensional Recording and Utilization of Cultural Heritage’, which contains theories, techniques and examples of digital archetype records. He is conducting research on the digital archetype documentation of natural heritage.
