청휘문 현판

Definition

‘청휘(淸輝)’는 ‘맑은 빛’이란 뜻이다. 주로 해와 달의 밝은 빛을 뜻하는데, 특히 밝은 달빛을 가리킬 때 자주 쓰인다. 당나라 두보의 시 「월원(月圓;둥근 달)」의 “고향에는 계수 꽃이 피었으리니, 만리에서 이 달빛[淸輝]을 함께하겠지”를 비롯하여 한시에서 수많은 예를 볼 수 있다.
