청연루

Definition

자경전의 누각이다. 건축 연대는 명확하지 않으나 『조선왕조실록』의 세종 31(1449)년 6월 18일(병인) 기사에 ‘내가 지은 건물’이라는 기록이 있어 세종 대에도 같은 이름의 건물이 있었던 것으로 보인다. 임진왜란 때 불탔으며, 현재의 건물은 1867(고종 4) 년 경복궁을 중건할 때에 다시 세웠다. 높은 돌기둥 위에 누마루를 깐 팔작지붕집이다.
