인유문 현판

Definition

‘인유(麟遊)’란 ‘기린이 노닐다’는 뜻이다. 『회남자(淮南子)』 「남명훈(覽冥訓)」13)의 “옛날 황제(黃帝)가 천하를 다스렸다.…(중략)…봉황이 조정에서 날고, 기린이 교외에서 노닐었다.”라는 표현에서 출처를 찾을 수 있다. 여기서 ‘기린이 노닌다’는 것은 상서로운 조짐이 드러남을 뜻한다.
