SNAC는 수십의 저장 주체 기관에서 제공 한 190,000 개 정도의 찾기 지원, OCLC WorldCat에서 제공 한 220 만 개의 MARC21 설명, 영국 도서관, 미국 국립 기록 보관소 및 기록 관리국, Smithsonian Institution Archives 등에서 제공 한 사람들에 대한 약 500,000 개의 원본 설명과 함께 작업했습니다.

기존 저장방식이 지니는 문제점
기존의 역사적 기록물에 대한 소장 및 저장은 각각의 소유주체들의 아카이브 혹은 도서관에서 개별적으로 이루어지고 있었다. 이러한 저장방식은 연구를 진행할 때 필요한 기록물을 찾기 위해 각각의 아카이브에 개별적으로 들어가 찾아야 하는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 방식은 교차검증에 큰 시간과 노동력을 소모하게 하고 때때로 중요한 내용에 대한 누락을 발생시킬 가능성 있다.
