격화

Definition

격화(隔火)는 향의 그윽한 정취를 오래 만끽하기 위해 사용하는 깨진 질그릇 조각이나 운모조각, 옥조각 등을 말한다. 서유구(徐有榘)의 《임원경제지 이운지(林園經濟志 怡雲志)》에 격화의 의미와 종류가 실려있다.
