Definition
창[牕牖]은 공기나 햇빛을 받을 수 있고, 밖을 내다볼 수 있도록 벽이나 지붕에 낸 문이다. 창유(窓牖)·창문(窓門)이라고도 한다. 서유구(徐有榘)의 《임원경제지 섬용지(林園經濟志 贍用志)》에서는 중국과 우리나라의 창의 제도에 대한 내용과 영창(映牕), 원창(圓牕), 장지문[粧子], 분합문[分閤], 가장지(假粧子) 등에 대한 제도와 설명 등이 실려있다.
