천리교목포선교소

Definition

천리교목포선교소(天理敎木浦宣敎所, 1909~1945)는 1909년 12월 9일 설치되었다. 천리교는 1838년 일본 나라현 천리시의 나까야마에 의해 창설된 신흥종교다. 목포에서는 1909년 고가(甲賀)대교회 소속 사와무라 요시로(澤村芳郞)가 포교를 시작하였다. 1925년 옛 목포대(만호진) 근처에 부지 237평, 건물 30평의 선교소를 지었다. 당시 신자는 일본인과 조선인을 합쳐 500여명이었다.
