무안우체사

Definition

무안우체사(務安郵遞司, 1897~1905)는 목포개항 직후인 1897년 12월 29일 개설된 후 1898년 2월 7일 무안전보사를 병설하고 1905년 5월 27일 통감부에 의해 목포우편국에 인도되었다. 우편 사업과 전신 사업 등의 통신 사업은 농상공부가 설치된 이래 가장 역점을 둔 사업이었으나, 일제의 통감부 설치 후에는 통감부 통신관리국이 한국의 모든 통신 기관을 장악하였다.
