목포무선전신소

Definition

목포무선전신소 (木浦無線電信所, 1910~1925)은 우리나라 최초의 전신 시설로서 1910년 8월 25일 기공해 1910년 10월 21일 완공됐다. 국권이 완전히 침탈당한 1910년 11월 23일 목포무선전신소가 개소되어 무선에 의한 전신을 취급하는 관서가 최초로 개소되었으며 이후 조선에 무선 전신이 본격적으로 보급되기 전 시설로 목포 중계, 근해 항로 선박에 대한 경보 및 해난 구조, 기상 관측 통보 등 임무를 수행했다.
