해설문
국문
쌍운교 및 단운교는 남도 진성(사적 제127호)의 남문 밖을 흐르는 세운천 위에 세운 2개의 다리이다.
단운교는 옆에서 볼 때에 무지개 모양을 하고 있으며, 다리 위에는 흙을 돋우고 잔디를 심었다. 길이는 4.5m, 너비는 3.6m이며, 냇바닥에서 다리 중앙부위까지의 높이는 2.7m로 작은 규모이다. 마을 인근에서 채집한 돌을 다듬지 않고 그대로 이용하였다. 아치 부분은 다듬지 않은 납작한 모양의 돌을 세로로 세워서 돌려 쌓았다.
단운교에서 약 40m 가량 떨어진 곳에 있는 쌍운교는 개울의 너비가 단운교보다 넓어 쌍무지개 형식으로 만들었다. 사용한 석재와 축조 방식은 단운교와 유사하다.
단운교가 세워진 시기는 1870년 이후인 것으로 추정하나 정확한 기록은 남아 있지 않으며, 쌍운교는 1930년 즈음에 주민들에 의해 세워 졌다고 전한다.
