The kilns dating to the Joseon period were semi-underground climbing kilns which consisted of a stokehole, a firing chamber, a baking chamber, an ash pit*, and a chimney. The remaining part of Kiln No. 1 measures 8.08 m in length. The stokehole and the chimney are mostly destroyed and the roof of the firing and baking chambers is collapsed. The remaining part of Kiln No. 2 measures 9.23 m in length. Although its stokehole and chimney are nearly gone, parts of the roof and walls of the baking chamber still remain. The roof tiles produced at this kiln were used for the Joseon-period buildings located at the northern part (rear) of Mireuksa Temple Site.
