암문은 일종의 비밀 통로로 적이 관측하기 어려운 곳에 설치된다. 남한산성에는 모두 16개의 암문이 있는데 본성에 11개, 봉암성에 4개, 한봉성에 1개가 설치되어 있다.

옥정사지 암문은 폭 95cm, 높이 180cm로 북문을 보조하기 위해 설치되었고 성 바깥 하남시 법화골로 연결된다. 암문 안쪽은 평거식(직사각형)이고 바깥쪽은 홍예식(아치형)이다.

• Secret Entrance of Okjeongsa Temple Site - Secret Entrance No. 4

Secret Entrance No. 4, located near Okjeongsa Temple Site, measures 95 cm in width and 180 cm in height. It was established to assist the north gate and has a rectangular inner opening and an arched outer opening.

A secret entrance (ammun) was an emergency passage that allowed for the undetected movement of forces into and out of the fortress. Namhansanseong Fortress has a total of 16 secret entrances: 11 along the main fortress wall, four along the northeastern auxiliary wall (Bongamseong), and one along the eastern auxiliary wall (Hanbongseong).

영문 해설 내용

옥정사지 인근에 설치된 제4암문은 폭 95cm, 높이 180cm이다. 북문을 보조하기 위해 설치되었고, 문의 형태는 안쪽은 직사각형이고 바깥쪽은 아치형이다.

암문은 아군이 적군 몰래 성을 드나들 수 있도록 만든 비상통로이다. 남한산성에는 모두 16개의 암문이 있는데 본성에 11개, 북동쪽 봉암성에 4개, 동쪽 한봉성에 1개가 설치되어 있다.
