부남디딜방아액막이놀이는 무주군 부남면 대소리에서 이어 오고 있는 전통 민속놀이다. 이 놀이는 1750년 무렵 마을에 전염병이 돈 이후 마을 사람들의 무병장수와 풍년을 기원하고 모든 액운을 없애기 위해 시작되었다고 한다.
정월대보름 밤에 부녀자들이 이웃 마을(쉴바우 마을) 디딜방앗간의 디딜방아를 몰래 가져와 디딜방아 다리에 고쟁이를 입히고 거꾸로 세운 후 제를 지내는 민속 행사이다. 현재는 풍물패를 앞세워 마을을 돌면서 행사에 필요한 물품과 비용을 마련하고, 디딜방아를 가져와 그 앞에서 제를 지낸다. 또한 흥겨운 뒤풀이 굿으로 모두가 함께 어울리는 마을 잔치로 이어 오고 있다.
부남디딜방아액막이놀이 보존회원들이 매년 정월 대보름과 무주 반딧불축제 등에서 재현하고 있다.
만석당(萬石堂)은 부남디딜방아액막이놀이를 전수하기 위한 곳이다. 이엉으로 지붕을 인 한옥 살림집으로 디딜방아가 있다. ‘부남디딜방아액막이놀이보존회’에서 전통 민속 놀이를 발굴하고 전통을 이어가며 관리하고 있다.

Bunam Didilbangaaekmaginori (Apotropaic Treadmill Performance of Bunam), Muju
This traditional community performance is passed down in Daeso-ri Village of Bunam-myeon Township.
The purpose of this performance is to avert diseases and wish for longevity and a plentiful harvest. It is said that the performance was established after circa 1750 when the village was hit by an infectious disease. Originally, on the first full moon of the lunar year, women would secretly bring a treadmill from a mill located in a neighboring village*, put women’s underpants on it legs, flip the treadmill upside down, and perform the ritual.

부남디딜방아액막이놀이는 무주군 부남면 대소리에서 이어 오고 있는 전통 민속놀이다.
이 놀이는 1750년 무렵 마을에 전염병이 돈 이후 마을 사람들의 무병장수와 풍년을 기원하고 모든 액운을 없애기 위해 시작되었다고 한다. 원래는 정월대보름 밤에 부녀자들이 이웃의 쉴바우 마을에 있는 방앗간에서 디딜방아를 몰래 가져와, 디딜방아 다리에 고쟁이를 입히고 거꾸로 세운 후 제를 지냈다.
