1980년 7월 2일 개관한 수원시립중앙도서관은 수원시 최초의 시립도서관으로, 경기도립중앙도서관(1970년 개관) 다음으로 수원시에서 오래된 도서관이다. 1979년 중앙일보·동양방송(JTBC의 전신)에서 착공하여 수원시에 기증하였다. 지하 1층과 지상 2층으로 구성된 중앙도서관은 26만여권의 도서를 보유하고 있으며, 1층에는 종합자료실 및 디지털실, 어린이 자료실이 있고, 2층에는 열람실과 정보자료실, 강의실 및 휴게실 등이 있다.

Suwon City Library

Suwon City Library* which was opened on July 2, 1980, is the first city library in Suwon and the oldest library in Suwon after Gyeonggi Province Central Library* (opened in 1970). It was constructed in 1979 by JoongAng Daily and Tongyang Broadcasting Company ((the predecessors of JTBC) and donated to Suwon. The central library which is home to about 260 000 books, consists of two above-ground stories and a basement, with a general reference room(?), digital room and children's reference room on the first floor, and a reading room, information resource center, classroom, and lounge on the second floor.
