안산읍성 중앙의 서측 사면부에는 여러 건물터와 집수시설(集水施設) 등이 확인되었다. 경사면의 하단부에서 상단부로 진입하기 위하여 기단 및 계단 시설을 만들었으며, 높이 차이를 두고 건물터 등이 조성되었다. 건물터는 심하게 파괴되어 그 기능을 명확히 파악하기 어렵지만 대부분 관아(官衙)와 관련된 부속 건물일 것으로 보이며, 일부 건물터는 집수시설의 물을 활용한 공방(工房) 등으로 사용되었을 것이다.

Architectural Structures

Various building sites and water-collecting facilities were found along the western slope of Ansaneupseong Walled Town. Because of the sloping topography, stone foundations and staircases were employed to create a level ground upon which the wooden buildings could be built. The archaeological remains have been severely damaged, so it is difficult to determine the exact function of each building. Most are presumed to have been the government office and its auxiliary buildings, while some are presumed to have been a workshop that used the water from the water-collecting facilities.
