안산읍성 중앙의 서측 사면부에는 여러 건물터와 집수시설(集水施設) 등이 확인되었다. 경사면의 하단부에서 상단부로 진입하기 위하여 기단 및 계단 시설을 만들었으며, 높이 차이를 두고 건물터 등이 조성되었다. 건물터는 심하게 파괴되어 그 기능을 명확히 파악하기 어렵지만 대부분 관아(官衙)와 관련된 부속 건물일 것으로 보이며, 일부 건물터는 집수시설의 물을 활용한 공방(工房) 등으로 사용되었을 것이다.

Structures (Ansaneupseong Walled Town)

Various building sites and water-collecting facilities were found on the western side of the mountain slopes of Ansaneupseong Walled Town. As the foundation and the upper slopes measure differently in height, it is presumed that stone foundation and staircase facilities were made and the buildings were built atop them. Due to the building sites being severely damaged, the function of the buildings here is difficult to be determined well. Most of them are presumed to have been a government office and its auxiliary buildings, while part of the buildings were used as a workshop which used the water from the water-collecting facilities.
