해남 광보사 육경합부』는 『금강반야바라밀경』, 『대방광불화엄경 보현행원품』, 『대불정수능엄신주』, 『관세음보살예문』, 『묘법연화경 관세음보살보문품』, 『불설아미타경』 등 여섯 종류의 불교 경전을 한 책으로 엮은 경전 합본입니다.

이 판본은 조선 세조 11년(1465)에 간행된 것으로, 현재까지 확인된 동년 간행본 중 유일하게 결락이 없는 완전본입니다.

해남 광보사 소장 『육경합부』는 조선 전기 불교 경전의 유행과 유통 양상은 물론, 사찰의 목판 인쇄문화를 구체적으로 보여주는 귀중한 문화유산으로서, 역사적·학술적 가치가 매우 높습니다.

Yukgyeong hapbu (The Six Sutras) of Gwangbosa Temple, Haenam

The Six Sutras is a compilation of the six Buddhist sutras that were most widely distributed since the early period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), namely Vajracchedika prajnaparamita Sutra (The Diamond Sutra), a chapter from the Avatamsaka Sutra (The Flower Garland Sutra) on Samatabhadra Bodhisattva’s vow, Shurangama Mantra, Amitabha Sutra, a chapter from the Saddharmapundarika Sutra (The Lotus Sutra) on Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and a confession ritual text for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.

This copy of The Six Sutras kept at Gwangbosa Temple was printed in 1465 and is the only complete extant copy from among those printed that year. It is of great historical and academic value as it shows in detail the trends and distribution of Buddhist scriptures, as well as the culture of woodblock printing at Buddhist temples, during the early Joseon period.

『육경합부』는 조선 전기부터 널리 유통되었던 6종의 경전을 모아 한 책으로 간행한 것이다. 전국의 주요 사찰에서 여러 번 간행되어 널리 유통되었다. 『금강반야바라밀경』, 『대방광불화엄경보현행원품』, 『대불정수능엄신주』, 『아미타경』, 『묘법연화경관세음보살보문품』, 『관세음보살예문』로 구성되어 있다.
